Is a wedding ring a symbol of your relationship — or is it just a piece of metal?
That's what one man is wondering after he realized his wife hasn't been wearing her wedding ring for a whopping two years. He took to Reddit to ask for advice after blowing up at his partner over the ring.
Oh boy this is a big one. There's obviously a lot to the story here, but to make a long story short, my daughter pointed out that my wife didn't have her ring on today. She said "I don't wear it". I did a double take... It felt like a shotgun to the heart. Of course I got furious.
It makes sense now, I've been asked "Wait, she's you're wife?" By several strangers in bars, clubs, outings, the past few years. Here I am with my wedding band on sitting next to my wife who's not wearing a wedding ring... She had several reasons why she doesn't wear it... from "We've talked about this several times. I was taking it on and off so much it's just easier to keep it off, I'm a hairdresser!" to "I'm not that kind of person, why do I have to wear a ring to prove I'm faithful" to "I don't wear jewelry!" to "It's just a ring, it doesn't mean we're not married." etc etc etc.
