"Relationships take work" — we've all heard this before. But what is some of the other advice that married couples swear by?

A recent Reddit thread asked, "For all you Redditors with healthy relationships, what's the best relationship advice you can give to someone about to get married?" The answers prove that when it comes to marriage, practice definitely makes perfect.

1. This says it all.

It's not you vs your partner in an argument, it's you and your partner vs the problem. If someone "wins" the argument, long term, both people lose. - BabyCowGT

2. "Be honest."

Be honest, be yourself. Now that you're getting married, you have no secrets, don't keep things to yourself (Unless you really have to, or are keeping an unrelated secret for a friend) BE confident in the relationship, don't overthink everything, if you feel they're doing something that isn't very acceptable, talk, and stay calm, don't raise your voice. - Animals_are_life
