Influencer and book author Rachel Hollis has apologized for comparing herself to Harriet Tubman after a backlash surrounding her choice to hire household cleaning staff. This is apparently not an April Fool's joke!
Hollis is one of the biggest lifestyle/girl-boss influencers in the game and wrote the best-selling "Girl, Wash Your Face." She now rakes in cash on lucrative conference speaking gigs and continues to post online.
It all started last week when, during an Instagram Live, Hollis said she hires someone to "clean her toilets" twice a week, according to Motherly. Fans started calling her "unrelatable" and "insensitive," Motherly writes.
This prompted Hollis to post a TikTok in which she refused to apologize for hiring household staff (fair enough — she's rich) but also implied that she has the ability to hire said staff because she wakes up at 4 a.m. and "no one" works as hard as she does. Yikes.
