If you accidentally come across definitive proof that someone's cheating do you have a moral obligation to tell the person who's being betrayed? What if the cheater in question was your own mom?

That's the uncomfortable situation Reddit user u/fischels found themselves in when they inadvertently came across some spicy text messages their mom pinned to her secret boyfriend.

The 16-year-old made the difficult decision to expose their mom's secret affair to their dad, and things got explosive. Now they're asking the internet:

AITA (Am I The As*hole) For Snitching on My Mom For Cheating On My Dad?

They write:

About a year ago I was on a beach vacation with my family. I burn super easily so I went up to the hotel early, leaving my parents and my little sibling at the beach alone, and I was alone in the hotel room.

My mom had left her phone in the hotel room, and I needed to ask my dad something despite my dead phone, so rather than walking all the way back down to the beach or waiting for my ancient phone to charge, I just opened my moms really quick.
