Small town America is known for being quaint, friendly and polite. But for every warm apple pie cooling on a windowsill, there's a pretty underfunded police department that might leave some of the weirdest crimes un-solved.

A recent Reddit thread asked, "Small Town Redditors: Whats the weirdest unsolved crime in your town, old or new?" The answers prove big cities have nothing on small towns when it comes to weird mysteries.

1. At least they're consistent.

My hometown’s biggest mystery is who keeps s******* in the holes at the golf course.

Person has been doing it for more than 20 years. Every 2-3 months, there’s a hole that’s been shat in. - Fight-the-bastds

2. Just a random guy in the cement.

Where I grew up they found a dude who was buried under the cement in a building, no history or information about him. It's clear that he got into some deep trouble with someone. - KGhaleon
