Woman asks if she's wrong for 'accidentally' announcing her engagement at her friend's wedding.

The golden rule of attending a wedding is not to upstage the bride. Because of this, things like wearing white or talking about your own engagement are capital wedding offenses.

One woman is in the doghouse with her best friend after she accidentally announced her engagement to someone at her wedding reception. Oops. She took to Reddit to ask if she was in the wrong after the unfortunate turn of events.

The woman says she never really announced her engagement online:

I'm not much of a Facebook person. I have it, browse on it, 'like' things, and tag friends in memes but that's about the extent of my Facebook use. I don't update my status or announce things. So when my fiance proposed, nobody really knew until I wanted them to know.

So some friends didn't know:

A week ago fiance and I attended my best friend's wedding. Of course she knew about the engagement, but many of my distant friends weren't up to date.
