Dog adoption can be a great thing — but what if the original owner decides they want the dog back?
A woman has taken to Reddit to ask if she's wrong for refusing to give her dog back to its previous owner, who says the dog ran away.
A year ago we adopted a beagle from a local shelter. She had been there for three months before we got her. She was morbidly obese (60 lbs) and had zero manners. We worked with our vet and got her to a healthy weight. We worked on training her with a professional trainer. She was heart worm positive when we got her so we’ve also been treating her for that, which is very expensive.
Our kids have gotten very attached to her after the year she’s been here. We didn’t know her past other than she was taken is a a stray and waited the mandatory week to be claimed before she was put on the adoption floor. She was fixed and not chipped.
