<p>The holidays are a time for tradition &mdash; but don&#39;t some traditions belong in the trash?</p><p>One woman is asking for advice after her family told her she has to spend the day cooking Thanksgiving dinner just because she&#39;s female &mdash; all while her brother sits on his butt and watches TV all day. She&#39;s <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/comments/jviqdl/wibta_for_not_coming_over_and_helping_my_mom_cook/">taken to Reddit</a> to ask if she&#39;s in the wrong.</p><h2>She&#39;s been helping her mom since she was a kid:</h2><blockquote> <p>For all of my life, my mother and I have spent all of Thanksgiving day in the kitchen cooking the meal while my father and older brother have sat around, watched tv, napped, etc. This has always been kinda annoying for me.</p> </blockquote><h2>She said something about it two years ago:</h2><blockquote> <p>Thanksgiving two years ago was a terrible day because things came to a head. It was my first thanksgiving spent with my now boyfriend, and my mom made me come home early from lunch with his family to help her cook.
