An "Am I The A**hole?" post launched an interesting discussion blended families and parental love.
A newlywed dad was trying to reassure his son through their transition into a blended family that he is loved, but the conversation was conducted in a clunky way that upset both his new wife and step-daughter.
The dad wrote:
I've recently just gotten married and my son (12M) is a bit insecure and about the whole thing and asked me if I loved him most and more than his step sister(11F), without thinking, I told him yes. Unfortunately, my step daughter was literally right around the corner and stood there and heard me.
She got upset and then told my wife who got really upset that I would say that, I tried explaining myself but she still thinks I'm wrong. AITA (Am I The A**hole)?
