In the term "couples vacation," the word "couples" is important, but the more exciting one is definitely "vacation."
A woman who planned and paid for a trip to Mexico is having her plans thwarted by her boyfriend failing to disclose that his password had expired. The trip is in three weeks, and an expedited passport takes four to process.
She explained the dilemma on "Am I The A**hole?":
My boyfriend and I have planned to take off August 6-17 to visit Loreto in Mexico. Hotel is booked, rental car is booked, plane tickets are booked. I work a very physically demanding job with long hours and this would be my first vacation from it in a year. We've both been looking forward to going so much, as we hardly have time off like this.
Unfortunately I did not know my boyfriends passport is expired and he did not tell me in time. The minimum amount of time we can get it renewed in is four weeks, with an expedited passport agency. I don't think that it's going to be possible to receive it before we leave. We've chatted about it and are trying to figure out what to do next. It's not possible to rebook things or change the time I'm taking off of work. He wants to try and cancel the tickets and all, and go somewhere in the states.
