When a neighborhood "Karen" complained to their co-op board about a mom about her son playing with sidewalk chalk in their apartment's courtyard, the mom responded in a brilliant, petty way.
Ashley Woodfolk is a writer and mom who is cautious about the pandemic and finding safe and fun ways to engage her toddler close to home. After the complaint from Karen, she went to the scene of the crime—the courtyard—and wrote out her letter in sidewalk chalk.
This will be my last time using sidewalk chalk in the courtyard since it seems to be such a problem for you (and only for you). I'm sorry harmless fun that brought my toddler joy (and has actually helped him learn all of his letters and most of his numbers—his favorites are E and 8) causes you so much distress that you had to to complain to the board and waste everyone's time when our building has much bigger real problems.
