Looks like SOMEBODY woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. President Donald Trump shared an early morning tweet, with a few typos, about how terrible "Alex Baldwin" is at portraying him, and how he should be replaced with Darrell Hammond, who is "funnier and a far greater talent!"
The President misspelled "dying" and also got Alec Baldwin's name wrong. Within a few minutes Trump had deleted that tweet, and replaced it with a correctly spelled one with the same sentiments.
The full tweet reads, "Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch. Bring back Darrell Hammond, funnier and a far greater talent!"
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter this week, Baldwin said of his impersonation of Trump, "Every time I do it now, it's like agony." He also said that anyone would be more qualified to be president than Trump: "Anybody over this guy. It doesn't matter. We have to get rid of him. And that's another project I'm working on."
Baldwin responded to President Trump's tweet, saying that although it might be agony, he'd like to "hang in there for the impeachment hearings, the resignation speech, the farewell helicopter ride to Mara-A-Lago (sic). You know. The Good Stuff. That we've all been waiting for."
Baldwin continued to roast Trump, tweeting "Looking forward to the Trump Presidential Library. A putting green. Recipes for chocolate cake. A live Twitter feed for visitors to post on. A little black book w the phone numbers of porn stars. You're in and out in five minutes. Just like…"
So while The Hollywood Reporter interview is probably what set off Mr. Grumpy President Pants this morning, Baldwin is giddily adding fuel to the fire.
But hopefully Trump will get back to something more important than his ongoing feud with
Alex Alec Baldwin.
