It's like the end of 'Lord of the Rings' but without CGI or hobbits.

You can say what you want about drones, but I don't see any human pilots flying into the caldera of an active volcano just to get a sweet YouTube video. Of course, that's not all that Sam Cossman and his team are doing here. The footage and readings from the drones will help scientists learn not only about volcanoes, but about how life persists in Earth's harshest environments.

These people braved searing temperatures and toxic gas, but the real heroes are the brave, plucky drones, two of which were lost in the attempt. But we'll remember their sacrifice every time we watch this clip. Which is a lot of times, because it's badass.
