If the news lately is making you feel like it would be a great time to retreat into a remote wasteland and never see another human, you're going to love shybot.

The little robotic rover, designed by Italian artist Norma Jeane and several engineers for Desert X Biennial, a months-long exhibition that uses California's Coachella Valley as a "canvas," recently traveled for a week around the Sonoran Desert with no real objective besides rolling the heck away from any people. Its peaceful adventures were streamed for audiences back in San Francisco, leaving the publicity-averse bot to navigate various plants, rocks, and other obstacles in complete isolation. Ahhh, this piece of machinery doesn't know how lucky it is.
