We at Someecards are huge proponents of therapy. Therapy saves lives—it saved mine. And I recommend it for everyone especially my exes and every single one of my family members. Working with a really good therapist has the potential to fix 90% of the problems in our lives (except our therapy bill). But unfortunately, not all therapists are good at their jobs. Therapists are humans, and humans are complicated damaged beings prone to bad and harmful behavior. Which is yet another reason why we need therapy.

In a popular Reddit thread, people are sharing stories of the worst thing a therapist ever said or did during a session. Here are 19 stories of bad therapists that should not deter you from seeking therapy. Because, trust me, you need it. We all do.

1.) From tragiccity:

It wasn't all that terrible, but she knew my mom professionally (mom is a mental health provider) and she spent the ENTIRE session talking about how amazingly wonderfully awesome my mom is. I mean, I think my mom's great too, but that's not why I was seeing a therapist. When I told my mom about it afterward, she was like "Yeah, so-and-so's not that great of a therapist." Um, you couldn't have told me that beforehand? We still laugh about it, though.
