5. Stupid people who made stupid connections between the deaths of Nelson Mandela and Paul Walker. In case you've been living under a stupid rock, Paul Walker died suddenly over the weekend in a car crash at the age of 40. He starred in The Fast and the Furious franchise. Yesterday, anti-apartheid activist, revolutionary, and first black president of South Africa Nelson Mandela died at the age of 95. His major contribution to the world is hard to even quantify. Connecting the two deaths may feel necessary if your brain is very small—they both happened in the same week!—but it is so, so not necessary. All week we've been hearing such nice stories about Paul Walker, who it seems was a pretty decent guy, even if his acting career had stalled a bit. It's massively unfair to invite comparison to Nelson freaking Mandela, who is basically the example of how to have a meaningful life. And yes, on the other hand, we're talking about Nelson Mandela here. A prisoner of conscience! An international hero! A leader for generations! Paul Walker was...no. See? This gets mean. Let's just not. And seriously, shut the f*ck up about Brian Griffin.
