Teaching may be one of the world's most rewarding professions. But it can also be one of the most challenging. Not everyone has the ovaries to do it. And even those who do may find themselves pushed far beyond the limits of what any human being can withstand.

In response to a question on Reddit, these 18 former teachers share the "final straw" that pushed them to quit their job:

1.) From m_addison13:

Last year was my very first year teaching. I was so optimistic. Bt turns out I got that class. The unruly, unmanageable class. The class veteran teachers couldn't manage. And I was yelled at weekly for my inability to manage them. Not to mention having to evacuate my class weekly because the room was being destroyed by one student who was physically violent and tried to stab me with scissors. This is 1st grade. Admins always blamed me for his behavior, even though I was following his IEP and behavior plan exactly as it was written. I quit in March. Now i'm at a waaay better district and school with an even more amazing administration that is providing 1000000000000x more support
