The workplace should be a safe zone where we can do our jobs without fear of sexual harassment from co-workers or, even worse, a manager or boss. But we all know, sadly, this is often not the case. In fact, sometimes professional environments can be even less safe than other places, because power dynamics make it especially difficult to speak up. A recent Twitter thread served as a painful reminder that sexual harassment is all-too-common at work, and that many people—women as well as men—have experienced it.

Twitter user Alexis Conklin posed this question on Twitter, asking women to share their stories of being made to feel uncomfortable at work by a male co-worker or boss:

The tweet went viral, and she got an overwhelming number of responses. And not all of them from women.
