Jim Carrey's really been painting up a storm. Last week it was Sarah Sanders, on Monday Donald Trump, and then on Tuesday, Carrey posted a black and white image of a color portrait he did of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Along with the image, he included the question, "Who are you sharing your life with?" and the hashtag #regulatefacebook. He'd posted the same image last month in color, saying he was selling his Facebook stock and deleting his page because Facebook allegedly profited from Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, and wasn't doing enough to make sure it didn't happen again.
This time Carrey included a quote from Zuckerberg on the image: "They trust me, dumb fucks." Zuckerberg reportedly said this about Facebook users at Harvard in 2004, according to Business Insider.
Carrey's reposting of the Zuckerberg portrait comes days after The New York Times reported that Facebook shared 50 million users' information with Cambridge Analytica (which would make a great Bond girl name), a political research group which worked for Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
Responses to the painting were mixed. A lot of Twitter users supported Carrey's message, and added their own thoughts to the mix.
But some pointed out that people should know that Facebook is not truly private.
Carrey's not the only person calling for people to delete their Facebook accounts. Brian Acton, the co-founder of WhatsApp, which Facebook bought in 2014, urged people to delete their Facebook accounts in a March 20 tweet.
And as far as portraits are concerned, in the ultimate display of fandom, one of Jim Carrey's fans got his portrait tattooed on him.
