Hey, if you were thinking of getting your eyeball tattooed (this is an actual thing people do, apparently!)...you might want to read this first.

Catt Gallinger, a model from Ontario, Canada, shared her ordeal with a scleral tattoo gone wrong on Facebook, and is urging others to proceed cautiously before getting the procedure done themselves.

A scleral tattoo is the practice of tattooing the white part of the eyeball, and usually involves injecting ink into the sclera in order to dye it. Look, no judgment but OUCH. OuchOuchOuch.

And although that sounds unbearable to most, Gallinger started experiencing the real pain after she received the tattoo.

Warning: graphic photos. Don't look at immediately after eating.

"This was caused by undiluted ink, over injection, not enough/smaller injections sights. There are multiple people who can attest that my aftercare was good and any other part of what I am saying," wrote Gallinger in a Facebook post. "I am NOT sharing this with you to cause trouble, I am sharing this to warn you to research who you get your procedures by as well as how the procedure should be properly done."

Are you eyes tearing up yet?

Gallinger revealed that she is now fighting to save her eyesight.

"I have been to the hospital three times, I had no furry pets to cause any dander, and I wash my hands every time I do anything with my eye, both before and afterwards," she went on to say. "I was on antibiotic drops for the first week and a half and have been on steroid drops for four days now, with little success at bringing down the internal swelling. The external swelling lasted for almost a week."

The next day.
The next day.

In a separate post, Gallinger revealed that she plans on taking legal action against the tattooer. She also said that she has canceled all upcoming shoots, and at this point, does not plan on modeling again.

So if you still want a scleral tattoo despite all that, just take some advice from Gallinger and do your research before going under the needle. Otherwise you may be shedding a few purple tears, too.
