This is personal trainer and Way of Gray founder, Sophie Gray. View this post on Instagram it's time to @divethru_ Can you stop scrolling for a second? I fucking love you. And I'm so appreciative that you're here. It means the world to me that you are a part of my journey through @wayofgray. I love and appreciate your presence. There are times where I have no idea what I'm doing with this account. There are times where I want to just throw in the towel and move on with my life. But, you being here is what inspires me each and every day. Whether you comment or not. I just want you to know that YOU are making a difference in someone's life. You are valuable. Over the years I have changed, a lot. It's been beautiful, and hard, and has involved a lot of tears. I know I'm not the same "six pack selfie" girl that I use to be. And, I appreciate you for sticking around and supporting me as I figure out my own voice. Fuck, I am seriously so thank you. You are so appreciated. You are so loved. You are so valued. You are so seen. You are so heard. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️ A post shared by Sophie Gray (@sophiegray) on Jun 29, 2017 at 2:52pm PDTThough Gray used to consider herself a fitness blogger, and was huge on #fitspiration (fitness inspiration) posts, she's recently changed her focus to self love. Now, she's speaking out about why that is.https://www.instagram.com/p/BVVeHdyB3Mw/?taken-by=wayofgraySophie wrote in an Instagram post last month: The other day I received a comment along the lines of “if I looked like you, I’d be able to accept myself”. This comment summarizes why I do what I do. If accepting yourself had to do with your physical appearance, why didn’t my phase of starving myself and losing weight make me happier? Why did I still cry myself to sleep even though I had a six pack and thigh gap? Why wasn’t I the happiest person in the room when I was my thinnest? The answer to this isn’t because I’m ungrateful. It’s that happiness and self acceptance do not have anything to do with your physical appearance. You know what does? Unconditional love for who you are in this very moment. Last week, an Instagram account dedicated to #fitspiration posted one of Gray's old photos with the caption, "Nothing tastes as good as being fit feels." View this post on Instagram it's time to @divethru_ You no longer see pictures of my body this way on @Instagram for this reason. Having a six pack and thigh gap doesn't make you happy. Pizza and cookies are fucking delicious. And I'm sick of women being told they have to be anything other than themselves to be happy. I know I was in the #fitspo industry for years, and I still want you to care for your body - but 🖕 this bullshit. You guys asked for a hashtag - so if you wanted to repost this with #fuckyourfitspo and @wayofgray - that would be amazing! Let's get this out to as many people as possible! A post shared by Sophie Gray (@sophiegray) on Jul 12, 2017 at 8:43am PDT"Actually, from experience and seeing as I am the person in this photo.. I know that pizza and cookies taste way better," Gray commented. She then posted a screenshot of the encounter on her own Instagram."You no longer see pictures of my body this way on @Instagram for this reason. Having a six pack and thigh gap doesn't make you happy. Pizza and cookies are fucking delicious," Gray captioned the post. "And I'm sick of women being told they have to be anything other than themselves to be happy."Gray explained to Elite Daily that her goal now, instead of #fitspiration, is to inspire women to put self-care and self-acceptance before anything else."I just truly want women to know that they don't need to do anything to be deserving of their own love and acceptance," she said. "Self-care through fitness and nutrition are wonderful, but not necessary to be a person who deserves acceptance."We don't know about you guys, but we think Gray's message of self-love is pretty awesome.Oh, and also, she has a really cute dog.
