Teachers spend a lot of time with students. And those students are often going through some weird stuff, from typical adolescent growing pains to unexplained smells and noises.

So as a result, teachers aren't just talking to kids about math and science and literature. They're also having super weird, borderline uncomfortable conversations with their pupils.

A recent Reddit thread asked, "Teachers of Reddit, what’s the most awkward topic you’ve had to discuss with a student or parent?" The answers prove that teachers probably don't make enough money for what they have to deal with.

1. Hygiene can be an issue.

Personal hygiene. Always the worst. I teach students with disabilities so I've had to give (clothed) demos of how to wash your body in the shower and how to apply deodorant/antiperspirant. - JosephCornellBox

2. There's hope for us all.

Students were making comments about the stinky kid in class(freshman). Some tried to get me to move their seat away from him.

The parent teacher conference came up, I can't remember how long it had been going on, but I talk to his dad about it.
