Yesterday, comedian Whitney Cummings was Twitter's main character thanks to her tweet about what it means to be a comedian. Cummings was going to bat for the world's highest-paid podcaster Joe Rogan, who has been criticized by doctors and Neil Young for promoting straight-up lies about COVID. While Spotify has yet to delete the episodes that could have dire health consequences for its millions of listeners, they purged all the episodes in which he said the N-word after a supercut went viral.
That was the context in which Cummings decided to chime in, reminding people that A) she exists, B) that Joe Rogan was once considered a comedian, and C) that comedians are insufferable.
