Ellen DeGeneres, who has said before she doesn't like to get too involved in politics on her show, opened her show with a takedown of Donald Trump after the man made the grave error of insulting her good friend, Oprah Winfrey.
In her monologue, Ellen compares Oprah and Trump, pointing out Oprah's superior and more inspiring speaking style and also her willingness to help people, compared to Trump's treatment of Puerto Rico, where he callously lobbed rolls of paper towels people in need.
The inciting incident was a tweet Trump sent out, after watching Oprah on 60 Minutes, discussing with voters in Michigan America's current political divide.
Trump had the audacity to tweet, "Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!
Well, that certainly didn't sit well with Ellen, and she let the President know as much on her show. And many people on Twitter couldn't have agreed with Ellen more.
But not everyone was on board with Ellen.
Oprah herself responded to the President's tweet on that show.
