People are roasting the embarrassing way Rex Tillerson learned he was fired.

On Tuesday morning, Donald Trump announced via tweet that Rex Tillerson is being replaced as Secretary of State by Mike Pompeo, the director of the CIA.

Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!

But the President of the United States couldn't just have fired his Secretary of State in a tweet, right? Rex Tillerson must have known beforehand, right? NOPE.

According to CNN, Tillerson did really learn of his firing from Trump's tweet.
