Interviewing for a job is not a fun experience for anyone. But the experience can be a little different for women. Sexism is alive and thriving in the workplace, including the interview room, and many female interviewees have been asked weirdly personal or inappropriate questions (including illegal ones) that men likely wouldn't get asked. Silver lining: at least this gives you useful information to know about a workplace before you decide to start working there.
Someone asked women of Reddit: "What strange personal questions have you been asked in a job interview that you don’t think they are asking male applicants?"
1.) From Meretneith:
All kinds of questions regarding my marriage status, if/when I plan to marry, if/when I plan to have children and how I would organize childcare for the hypothetical children.
All of those questions are illegal where I live, by the way, and I refused to answer them. I didn't get those jobs, in case that wasn't obvious.
