Plane passenger starts drama by telling woman 'you were screaming;' AITA?

The worst part about traveling on a plane isn't even the uncomfortably cramped seats, recycled air, or stale pretzels--it's other people...

What's worse than someone who takes way too long to get their bag down from the overhead compartment? Someone who thinks that the entire plane is interested in hearing their conversation.

So, when a conflicted plane passenger decided to vent to Reddit's 'Am I the As*hole' about a particularly annoying conversation, people were ready to help deem a verdict.

AITA (Am I the As$hole) for telling the lady 2 seats behind me on a plane she was screaming the whole flight?

At the airport now. The lady 2 seats behind me on the flight was talked extremely loud the entire flight. I had earplugs in and it was piercing my ears.

After the flight landed the lady across the aisle from me looked terrified and said they’re on her next flight.

I got up and walked back and said, “you guys are flying to Florida next right? You may want to consider being a little more quiet on your next flight. I had earplugs in and could hear you screaming the entire time.'

I turn back around and her boyfriend calls me an as$hole. So I turned back and asked what he said. He told me I was an ahole. Then the girl chimes in and said, “we weren’t even talking loud.”

I show them the earplugs in my hand and said, “I had earplugs in my ears 2 seats ahead of you, and I heard all about Frank's wedding, your nail appointment, feeding your dogs, your cellphone bill, the TV shows your mom watches?' Am I the as$hole?

Here's what the jury of internet strangers had to say:

If you could hear them from two seats back even without earplugs they're definitely talking way too loud. NTA.

NTA Good that you told them!

NTA. If you heard details of a conversation from two rows away and earplugs in, they were way too loud. However, it probably would have been a good idea to get a flight attendant involved to try to get them to STFU.

NTA, Listing back to them their topics of conversation is gold. Well done.

NTA. I would be afraid to confront anyone these days, but hopefully you saved some people in the future from the rudeness. Always travel with noise-canceling headphones especially if you are sensitive to loud people.

NTA, you are the GOAT.

NTA. You did the Lord’s work right there. You just had the confidence to verbalize what everyone else near her was thinking.

Note to plane passengers everywhere: if you don't want to get called out for being too loud, keep the details of Frank's wedding to yourself.
