There's a slightly nauseating saying, "don't sh*t where you eat," that is meant to dissuade employees from hooking up with co-workers. It's a saying that many, many co-workers have blatantly disregarded in the history of people having jobs. Hooking up with your co-workers is for sure a potential landmine, but it's also a fun one! And it can often work out for the best, since many people do end up pulling a Jim & Pam and marrying a co-worker. But while hooking up with a co-worker is risky, it's not nearly as risky as hooking up AT WORK—as in, on the premises, during work hours. That takes a level of courage and recklessness that I frankly respect. Even if it is a recipe for getting fired, or at least an awkward meeting with HR.
Someone asked people of Reddit who got caught hooking up at work: "what happened?" The responses did not disappoint.
