LinkedIn is the social media equivalent of that annoying friend who can't stop bringing up that they went to Harvard, and always wants to talk about work in social situations. You need them around because, let's be honest, they'll probably help you get a job one day, and also they always offer to buy a round of drinks for the table. But you'd still rather eat your own hand than talk to them for more than give minutes.
There's no question that LinkedIn is a useful website for anyone looking to find a job or advance their career. But it's also a breeding ground for a particular kind of obnoxious, condescending behavior that often presents itself in "inspirational" posts, not-so-humble brags, and unsolicited advice.
