Tampons, sanitary napkins, and other menstruation-related items (Ibuprofen, anyone?) are straightforward to anyone who understands how women's bodies work. There's no mystery or confusion there, it's just...how they function. I'm thrilled that in my short lifetime, men and boys have made serious strides re: being idiots about periods. In high school, if I handed a male friend a tampon, he reacted like 'Carrie' in that locker room scene: terrified and disgusted.
