A photo of an adorable puppy that was put up for "adoption" has been making the rounds on Facebook. The pup's name is Lexi and she is an eight-week-old German Shepherd who is desperately seeking new, loving owners... or is she?

D'aww, who wouldn't want to adopt this pup?

Last Thursday, a man from the Irish community of Dingle shared the above photo of his canine on the Facebook page "Dingle What's On." The post was made to look like a classic advertisement for a pet adoption, but the guy totally had another (cruel) idea in mind.

After reading the entire caption that went along with the photo, your heart will immediately sink to the floor:

This is Lexi, she's an 8 week-old German Sheppard, I bought Lexi as a surprise for my wife but it turns out she is allergic to dogs so we are now looking to find her a new home. Her name is Siobhan, she is 39 years old, a beautiful and caring woman who drives, is a great cook and keeps a good house.

This terrible husband didn't intend to sell Lexi, but his wife Siobhan instead. Doh!

The viral Facebook post—which now has more than 8,000 likes—has a flurry of comments. Some people were very much interested in buying Siobhan:

Others foresaw the horrible things to come for the soon-to-be-bachelor:

No response from the wife yet, but if the way people are reacting on Facebook is any indication, the husband can kiss his marriage goodbye.
