Men are socialized to "make the first move" in sexual or romantic situations and women are socialized to passively wait for them to hit on us. It's a deeply flawed system, because when a woman likes someone, we're constantly being told that we should give them subtle hints instead of telling them directly. The problem? Men seem to miss these hints with alarming frequency. Even when the hints are not subtle at all. To avoid all of these misunderstandings and missed connections, if you're a woman who likes a guy, do him a favor and stop slinging hints and just tell him. Most likely, it'll work out way better for both of you then all of the subtle side eye and sexual innuendo.
Someone asked Reddit: "When did you miss an obvious hint that someone wanted to have sexual relations with you?"
