Divorce is never easy, especially when kids are in the picture. You have to figure out how much you want to tell them, while also making them feel safe and supported.

Reddit user u/throwaway82619237 and his ex agreed to keep the details of their divorce private from their kids, but his daughter found proof and confronted him with it. He came clean with her, but his ex feels betrayed. Now, he's turning to the internet to ask:

AITA (Am I The As*hole) for confirming for my daughter why my ex and I divorced?

He writes:

This is a rough situation where everyone loses, I think. My ex and I divorced 3 years ago. I thought everything was fine, but she raised the possibility of an open relationship and I didn’t want that.

That was a deal-breaker for her because she says she’s figured out that she’s non-monogamous by nature and felt stifled by not being able to express it.
