There are many reasons single people are single, from being too busy to not having met the right person to straight-up being an asshole. But in the case of 30-year-old New Yorker Sam, he says he's single because he's "too funny and interesting."
Sam and Katie were recently set up on a blind date for TimeOut New York's weekly column, "The Undateables." In it, the editors of TimeOut set up two single New Yorkers, send them out to a restaurant, and then publish their reviews of each other and the date.
It started off ... badly. TimeOut asked Sam why he's single, and here's how the publication paraphrased his response:
He’s too funny and interesting for most people, and that can come off as threatening.
It's unclear if Sam was joking, especially considering how "funny" he is. Either way, the magazine's readers noticed his comment and worked their feelings out on Twitter.
