<p>We&#39;ve all experienced receiving a gift that we didn&#39;t like. And some gifts are so terrible that receiving them can actually feel like an insult. But it&#39;s customary when receiving a gift, even one that you hate, to express gratitude to the gift-giver, pretend you like it, and then hide it in your closet except when they come over to visit.
