If you've ever been a Maid of Honor, you know that it is a serious responsibility. From throwing the bachelorette party to ensuring that the Bride doesn't lose her sh*t while planning the wedding, a Maid of Honor has to be there for the bride for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. And that often means enthusiastically taking on the bride's weird requests to ensure that her special day runs smoothly.
Enter Rebecca Foster and her best friend and Maid of Honor, Sharilyn Wester. These two have been pals since high school, and share the same "strange sense of humor," so when Foster asked her to prank her new husband James by photobombing her "veil toss" photos, she was totally game.
Even if you haven't heard the term "veil toss photo," you've probably seen them before: someone out of frame tosses the end of the bride's veil so in the picture she looks like some sort of angelic goddess with Beyoncé-level winds blowing her veil back.
Anyway, the results of the prank were truly breath taking:
"The groom had no idea what we decided to do, but once we started acting goofy, he played along and was laughing," Wester told HuffPost Canada. "We had been outside in the 36 C weather in the sun all day in formal attire for hours, and we figured we could try and perk everyone up and make them laugh."
Mission accomplished. According to photographer Ashley Hempel, the stunt was a huge success: "I posed Becca and James, and then Sharilyn started HER posing and I died. It was so funny. The whole bridal party was cracking up."
The best part? These photos will not only forever preserve the love between the bride and groom, but that special-but-weird relationship between a gal and her best friend as well.
