This comic strip from illustrator Jim Benton demonstrates one of the undeniable truths of the internet: there's no such thing as a brief video advertisement. We don't feel it when we're forced to watch a commercial on TV, and it's because on the internet we're predisposed to assume that the video we're waiting to watch is going to suck. When we're forced to suffer through a tile cleaner commercial before we can even find out how disappointed we're going to be, those five seconds feel like five wasted lifetimes.
