Why are all those people on the right being smothered by lemons? (pic via Scientology.org)

A Scientology event in Portland this weekend was reported on the organization's website to have been attended by "more than 2,500 Scientologists and guests" as well as "city and state dignitaries." It sure looks like 2,500, if you count all the people on the right of the photo who appear to have been painted a splotchy yellow by an Instagram app gone haywire. Others at the event estimated the attendance at around 750, and Mike Rinder's blog uses an image from a bystander to show exactly where some excess crowd folk were photoshopped in to make the event look bigger than it was.
