Today, science is one step closer to proving that dolphins are cool bros.
Discovery has a new documentary on dolphins coming out that was filmed by "cutting-edge spy cameras disguised as sea creatures — including a robotic dolphin, tuna, nautilus and squid." One of the coolest things they captured with these high-tech "spies" was spinner dolphins in action. The dolphins are uncreatively named (spoiler alert: they spin), but pretty badass to watch.
According to the video (complete with hilariously deadpan narration), nobody's sure why the dolphins spin. They might be doing it to "rid themselves of parasites." Or (and this is my preferred theory) this might be the dolphin equivalent of a high-five.
Also, I really hope someone makes a family film soon where a real dolphin falls in love with a robot dolphin.
