This valiant Concord, CA homeowner recorded his confrontation with a package thief and a lazy passenger-seat accomplice who were brazenly attempting to steal a parcel from his family's front doorstep. They didn't get away scot-free however: the victim of the theft not only made the thief drop the package, he got at least partially even by himself nabbing the accomplice's purse in the hopes of finding ID to give to police. The incident was captured on not one, not five, but four home security cameras, none of which dissuaded this out-of-shape burglar from pulling over and stealing stuff in broad daylight:
Here's the victim's statement on what happened:
This happened at 4:12pm on Friday Sep.25. These people have no fear, three cars in the driveway and the female in the passenger seat even made eye contact with our grown daughter through the window.
They drove by several times and were not following a delivery truck, but just looking for packages or what every else they could steal.
My Daughter said someone is running up to the house, I ran out and realized he was stealing something and chased him to the car. I reached in to the window and tried to stop them, he didn’t care that I had her arm and when he started to drive off, I saw her purse and grabbed it with hopes there was ID and turned it in to the police.
If you see this white car or recognize him contact the Concord police and reference report #15-15900.
Amazingly, Internet sleuths (and hopefully police) have already identified a prime suspect: known Concord-area package stealer Daniel Price. One can't deny he bears a resemblance to the Bigfoot-like figure seen waddling in the videos above, especially when you compare it to the time he was caught on camera in 2012.
Compare that to the remaining two security camera angles. Do you think it's the same thief?
