A judge removed a child from her lesbian foster parents, citing the fact that they're lesbians as his main reasoning. April Hoagland and Beckie Peirce are a legally married couple living in the LGBT haven of Salt Lake City, Utah. They have been raising a foster baby for the last three months. Despite the fact that they passed the mandatory background checks, home inspections, interviews, and human cage matches required to foster a child, a judge recently ruled their baby to be reassigned to the home of a heterosexual couple. He claimed that "there was a lot of research that indicated children who are raised in same-sex parent homes do not do as well as children who are raised by heterosexual parents." He didn't cite any specific evidence in his argument, begging the question, "Who judges the judges?"
