Marriage equality is beautiful, Scalia's face is not.
Stephen Colbert continues to produce wonderful desk pieces even though his debut as host of The Late Show doesn't begin until September.
True to form, Colbert celebrated the news and made sure to note it was long overdue, as gays received “full constitutional personhood just five years after corporations."
Colbert skillfully mocked the most laughable quotes from the dissenting opinion, including Scalia's declaration that he would “hide his head in a bag" if he were part of an opinion that began in the same way as the majority opinion. Colbert then hit that perfectly lobbed softball by remarking that “I could've sworn he was already hiding his head in a flesh-toned cinch sack," and ended with a lovely sarcastic request, adding, “Please come on my show, sir."
No word yet on whether Scalia plans to make an appearance on The Late Show.
