Teachers and professors don't get nearly enoug credit for all of the ridiculous behavior they have to endure from students while remaining patient and professional.

The effort some students will go through to avoid making flashcards and memorizing some facts for a test can actually be impressive. While most of us are familiar with students cheating by glancing over their classmate's shoulder, some cheaters are much more creative.

Cheating with headphones or a homemade technological device, writing notes inside clothing, pretending to have written very famous works themselves, or even learning another language are all some of the techniques cheaters have tried in an attempt to avoid studying for exams. Studying is annoying, but surely organizing the entire class to get in on a secret cheating ring is much more complex.

So, when a Reddit user asked, "Teachers and Professors, what is the cleverest (or dumbest) way you've seen a student cheat?" teachers were ready to share stories of their most memorable cheaters.

1.

Once I was attending a school spelling bee, where the contestant was allowed to ask questions like "can you repeat the word?" and "can you use that in a sentence?". One of the children asked the judge to spell the word, and the judges reflexively spelled it for him.

They caught their mistake immediately, and gave him a different word instead. So I guess that sort of worked since he didn't know the first one.

Clever though. - never_uses_backspace
