18 people share weirdly specific rules that only exist because someone actually broke them.

We've all seen a sign on an office door or apartment building with a set of rules so specific it truly makes you wonder what someone previously tried (and sadly failed) to get away with...

Shout out to the sign in the back room of the sandwich shop I worked at in high school that said, "Employees are forbidden from using excess bread for 'snack experiments' or free Charcuterie samples for customers." At the soap shop I worked at, we had to have a sign that asked customers to "please refrain from eating the soap." In high school, students were strictly forbidden from "tampering with the faculty's coffee," which started an attempted poisoning rumor involving a math teacher, his coffee, and a Bath & Body Works watermelon body mist.

While there are some rules that are meant to be broken, there are definitely some rules that make you wonder who would ever even try to break that. And, if a rule is too outrageous, like "don't eat soap," enforcing it almost makes people want to try it. "Is the soap delicious? It is shaped like a cupcake. Can I just have one bite?"
