People who spent a lot of their time at sea get to experience and witness things that most people could never dream of doing and seeing. However, the risk factors alone can definitely deter people from spending months on a sailboat. If you're not a naturally adventurous, explorer-type, you probably shouldn't set off on 3 month boat excursion. If you're brave, though, the risk is definitely worth it. Dolphins, sharks, whales, birds, flying fish, bioluminescence--the ocean is magical. So, when a recent Reddit user asked, "Sailors, what is one of the strangest things you've seen at sea?" people who spend a lot of time on the open waters were ready to share their wildest sea sightings.
