Family Christmas cards can be super cute, but they often feel a bit too polished and predictable to be that interesting. Obviously, the excuse to take an annual high quality family photo makes complete sense, but who among us has ACTIVELY looked forward to seeing how much our cousin's faces and ugly sweaters have shifted in a year?! It's great to see cousin Donny got rid of the creepy mustache, but it doesn't exactly inspire eager anticipation.
On the contrary, the comedian John Cessna has built a following of friends and strangers eagerly looking forward to his delightfully absurd solo Christmas cards. His tradition started back in 2008, when he was away from family during the holidays and his mom jokingly told him to "sober up and send out his own Christmas cards."
