While most parents try to instill proper hygiene habits into their children, after a certain age it becomes harder to control whether or not your kids are showering and brushing their teeth...

Most parents hope they did everything they could to raise kids who enter adulthood with clean ears, washed hair, brushed teeth, trimmed toenails and a daily deodorant but all we can really do at some point is hope for the best. If you did everything you could while your child was in your home and they grow up to be a person who refuses to abide by a shower schedule, that's probably something they have to deal with on their own. Of course, neglecting personal hygiene can be a symptom of depression or other mental illnesses so if your loved one is exhibiting usual hygiene-related habits, it might be time to intervene.

However, when a frustrated mother decided to consult the internet's moral compass of Reddit's "Am I the As*hole?" about her 24-year-old daughter's dental health, people were quick to offer some advice.
