Boynton Beach, a city of almost 70,000 in Palm Beach County, Florida has a police department that wants to get engaged with its citizens through social media. So, beginning this past November, they decided to host "virtual ride alongs" on Twitter, tweeting out each situation they interacted with and posting photos. Yesterday, St. Patrick's Day, Officer Nasim Davis would be operating the @BBPD Twitter account and the #ridewithbbpd hashtag during his 3:30pm-3am shift. In many ways, he made himself and the department look talented and human. He also locked himself out of his car, requiring someone to come out with a spare key.
