If you ever need to break the ice in a paddy wagon, now you know how. (via @AEMazlumoglu)

Of all the people who have tried to top Ellen's celebrity-packed, Samsung-sponsored, ultra-retweeted Oscars group selfie (like this adorable old dad, some Legos, and Ret. Gen. Colin Powell), this has to be the most different and worthy challenger. Ali Emre Mazlumoğlu, an Istanbul resident who took part in protests this weekend, took the photo with 13 other people who were arrested on Wednesday. They were taking part in a new wave of protests sparked by the funeral of Berkin Elvan, a 15-year-old boy who was struck in the head by a tear gas canister fired by police, putting him into a coma and ultimately killing him this Tuesday. He was not taking part in the protests, he had stepped out of his house (near the protests) to purchase bread.
