1. GOP Is 'Slight Favorite' To Take Control Of, Accomplish Nothing With Senate

Rock star statistician Nate Silver has crunched the numbers and says that Republicans have about a 60 percent chance of winning the six seats needed to take control of the U.S. Senate in the upcoming midterm elections. Once in control, they are expected to accomplish as little as Democrats have for the past eight years, due to the chamber's absurd filibuster rules in place. They will likely lose control again in 2016, when Democrats will get to go back to getting nothing done.
